Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, curiosity, and a focus on measurable business impact.

Qualifications

6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
Strong coding skills in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with distributed computing and Spark runtime internals.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for production deployments.
Experience with enterprise clients and managing multi-stakeholder projects.
Willingness to travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

Lead production solution delivery including reference architectures, data ingestion, and AI model integration.
Own architecture decisions to ensure security, scalability, and alignment with best practices.
Work with cross-functional teams to scope technical delivery and ensure customer success.
Embed with customer teams to gather requirements and deliver measurable outcomes.
Develop accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for reuse across accounts.
