Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to partner with customers in the Communications, Media, Entertainment & Games sector. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will travel roughly 20% to customer sites, drive production-grade delivery, and work with engineering, product, and client teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments that accelerate value from data and AI.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Ability to design scalable end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Experience delivering technical projects and managing timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment with customers.
• Bootstrap and implement customer projects ensuring adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
