Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to collaborate with customers to design, build, and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, adaptability, and strong collaboration with engineering, product, and developer relations teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark internals.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including architecture, reference designs, data ingestion and ML model integration.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Empower customers by guiding architecture decisions and ensuring secure, scalable deployments.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure engagement components are delivered to meet customer needs.
• Provide feedback to product and support to accelerate issue resolution on engagements.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Develop accelerators and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
