Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a deeply technical Forward Deployed Engineer for a full-time, remote role based in the United States with up to 30% travel.

You will join customer conversations early, understand the platform, evaluate feasibility, and help teams reason through architecture and implementation tradeoffs. You will prototype, build, and debug, working with our engineering team to scale patterns for complex deployments and future growth.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, forward deployed engineering, customer engineering, or a similar technical customer-facing role.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and systems design, with ability to write, debug, and review production-quality code.
• Deep experience with APIs, integrations, data systems, cloud infrastructure, and modern application architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Python and/or TypeScript in a modern stack, plus SQL and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and solution design in early customer conversations with Product Lead and VP of Sales.
• Evaluate feasibility and tradeoffs across architecture, APIs, data, authentication, security, and deployment.
• Prototype, build, and debug technical solutions with the engineering team to deliver reliable implementations.
