Job summary

Skiffra is seeking a Forward-Deployed Engineer to work on-site with customers, translating complex operational problems into deployed platform solutions. You will learn customer workflows, design and implement integrations, and validate outcomes with operators and business leaders.

The role combines technical depth with business judgment, shaping how Skiffra’s platform evolves and scales across industries. Travel up to 30–50% and hybrid work in LA or SF Bay Area are expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in software, data engineering, systems integration, or similarly demanding client-facing environments.
• Experience leading ambiguous customer-facing technical work from discovery through deployed outcomes.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customer executives, IT teams, operators, and product/engineering teams.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and the ability to reason about systems, data models, APIs, infrastructure, security, and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer teams to understand operations, data, and constraints.
• Assess impact on throughput, cost, reliability, risk, or time.
• Turn needs into clear technical problems, designs, and deployment plans.
• Design integrations across customer systems, APIs, databases, and ERP platforms.
• Configure and deploy the platform in customer environments with validation and production readiness.
• Diagnose technical problems across systems and third-party services.
• Work with operators to ensure deployed solutions reflect operational realities and outcomes.
• Collaborate with product and platform engineers through implementation and validation.
• Identify recurring patterns to become reusable platform capabilities.
• Translate findings into clear requirements for product and engineering.
