Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring engineering excellence, adaptability, and strong collaboration with engineering, product, and customer teams. This position is hybrid with 20-25% travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data eng, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Cloud expertise across two+ ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with at least one deep.
• Experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments; basic MLOps/ML model concepts.
• Experience delivering technical projects to enterprise clients with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solutions for federal government clients using Databricks platform.
• Own architecture, drive design decisions, and ensure secure, scalable deployments.
• Deliver end-to-end data pipelines, ML/AI integration, and user-facing interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and client teams; train and support customers.
• Embed with customer teams and create accelerators, frameworks, and best practices.
• Travel to customer locations 20-25% and maintain strong customer empathy.
