Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with federal government customers, delivering data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, drive design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. This hands-on, hybrid role requires travel to customer locations 20-25% and a passion for solving complex problems with measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments; working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions for production-grade data & AI solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery of data pipelines, ML/AI models and applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and customer teams to ensure alignment with client needs.
• Provide training and technical guidance to customers and teammates.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Develop reusable accelerators and contribute to the Databricks product roadmap.
