Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers, owning architecture and end-to-end delivery of data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

The role blends engineering with business impact, requiring strong cloud, data engineering, and ML/AI skills. This is a hybrid position with travel to customer sites about 20–25% of the time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production end-to-end data architectures and applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Deliver production-grade systems, reference architectures, and data ingestion/ML integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet customer needs.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and drive impact.
• Provide accelerator assets, frameworks and best practices for scale across accounts.
