Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with federal government customers, architect end-to-end data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform, and lead design decisions. You will embed with client teams, training, and other technical needs to maximize value from data.

The role requires 20-25% travel, hybrid work arrangements, and proactive delivery of scalable, secure architectures that align with Databricks best practices and customer goals.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering
• Proficiency in PySpark, Spark runtime, and distributed computing concepts
• Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) and at least one
• Strong coding in Python, Scala, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps
• Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients
• Ability to document, whiteboard, and communicate complex architectures

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery for customer projects.
• Architect end-to-end data, AI, and application integration solutions.
• Guide strategic customers on architecture and design decisions.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Provide accelerator frameworks and reusable assets across accounts.
• Work with engineers and support teams to address product and deployment issues
