Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers to design and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture and lead end-to-end delivery.

You will travel about 20% of the time, collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams, and deliver scalable data pipelines, reference architectures, and production-grade applications that drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with multi-cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps and AI model integration.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Experience delivering technical projects with stakeholder management.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Willingness to travel 20% and Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects delivering reference architectures and data pipelines.
• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end data and AI solutions with clients.
• Guide customers on architecture and best practices, ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with Eng, PM, and Customer teams to meet engagement goals.
• Provide feedback to product teams and support rapid issue resolution.
