Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal, state, and local government customers, building and productionizing data & AI solutions using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering expertise, adaptability, and a passion for solving complex problems that drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spark.
• CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps familiarity.
• End-to-end data architecture and application design.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade delivery of data and AI solutions for government clients.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver required components.
• Guide customer design discussions and provide technical leadership across engagements.
• Embed with customer teams to gather requirements and drive adoption of Databricks platform.
• Develop accelerators, frameworks, and reusable assets for broader use across accounts.
• Contribute to product feedback and issue resolution with engineering and support teams.
