Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with federal, state, and local government clients in delivering production-ready data and AI solutions using the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and work across data engineering, AI, and application development with a focus on secure, scalable outcomes and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Cloud experience across two or more ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments, and MLOps knowledge.
• Design and deployment of scalable data architectures and apps combining data pipelines and AI models.
• Experience delivering technical projects with documentation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Deliver production-grade systems and end-to-end data/AI components for clients.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope and plan technical delivery work.
• Embed with customer teams and train them to derive value from Databricks products.
• Work with engineering, product, and support to address engagement-specific issues.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices across accounts.
• Interact with executives and technical ICs to understand challenges and impact.
