Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers, leading architecture and end-to-end solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own the design, implement data engineering, AI, and application components while collaborating with engineering, product, and customer relations teams. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires travel to customer sites 20-25% of the time, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and measurable business

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with 2+ cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep PySpark/Apache Spark experience and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments; knowledge of MLOps and ML/AI models and APIs; end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients and coordinating stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects delivering reference architectures and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end data and AI project design, build, and deployment.
• Support customers by architecture guidance and helping adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Deliver technical components with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Customer Support for product feedback and rapid issue resolution.
• Immerse with customer teams to understand challenges from ICs to executives.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.
