webAI is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to deploy production AI systems across secure, distributed environments, from government cloud to edge devices. The role combines ML, systems engineering, and deployment optimization, translating customer needs into scalable, robust solutions with up to 25% travel and potential remote work for qualified candidates.

Candidates should have 5+ years in software and ML, hands-on experience with PyTorch/TF/ONNX, and active US security clearance;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined software engineering and ML experience.
• Active US Security clearance.
• Proven track record deploying ML/AI systems in production.
• Experience with ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, JAX.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to scope, deploy, and maintain AI solutions in production environments.
• Design, develop, and deploy agentic workflows for multi-step reasoning and tool use across production systems.
• Debug and optimize data pipelines and AI systems on customer networks.
• Translate complex customer requirements into well-scoped technical solutions.
• Work across the stack from model inference on consumer hardware to infrastructure automation.
• Read hardware schematics/logs to identify performance bottlenecks and improvements.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients and represent the engineering team externally.
• Provide feedback to internal teams to improve product robustness and usability.
