Job summary

Forward Air is seeking a Freight Handler (Forklift Operator) to safely load, unload, and move freight within a multimodal terminal or warehouse. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, stage freight, and assist with dock operations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to PPE standards in a non-climate controlled environment. Candidates should be able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50–75 lbs with/without assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid forklift certification required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload freight using forklifts and other MHE.
• Move and stage freight between dock doors and warehouse areas.
• Prepare items for shipping and delivery; assist drivers as needed.
• Scan and track freight for accuracy and documentation.
• Identify damaged freight and report safety or equipment issues.
