Job summary

Forward Air Corp. in Indianapolis seeks a reliable Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight in a busy multimodal terminal. You will operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, follow procedures, and help maintain accurate documentation.

The role requires 5am–1pm on weekdays, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. Experience with scanners and dock operations is valued; training is provided for site-specific equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification is required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance due to mechanical aids.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, and position freight between docks and warehouse areas.
• Prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices.
• Support drivers with loading/unloading per safety procedures.
• Maintain dock cleanliness and safety compliance.
