Job summary

Forward Air is seeking a Forklift Operator in Humble, TX to safely load, unload, and move freight in a multimodal terminal. You will use sit-down/stand-up forklifts and handheld scanners, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities include staging, sorting, packing, and supporting dock operations while adhering to all safety policies. The position requires a valid forklift certification or ability to obtain it, 3+ years of dock experience, and strong English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to read numbers, labels, barcodes and freight markings accurately.
• English communication skills, both written and verbal, to understand safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Report damaged freight or unsafe conditions to supervision.
