Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to perform loading, unloading, staging, and movement of freight in a fast-paced dock environment. You will use handheld scanners to document cargo and assist with warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements include 3+ years in dock/warehouse work, English communication skills, and a valid forklift certification. The role involves long shifts with heavy lifting and safety protocols, and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading following dock and safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld scanners and company systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues or unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment.
• Train and support development of other Material Handlers.
