Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) in Oregon seeks a senior consultant to conduct biomechanics, safety analyses, and failure investigations for complex incidents. You will review projects, design tests, and produce findings for clients and legal proceedings.

Requirements include a Master's in a relevant field, PhD preferred, and experience with MATLAB, PsychoPy, and R. CHFP/CPE/CUXP are desirable. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive compensation range.

Qualifications

Five to ten years work experience in a forensic or safety consulting position.
Academic coursework in human factors, neuropsychology, engineering, human-computer interaction, product design, occupation biomechanics, cognitive engineering and/or work physiology.

Responsibilities

Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding, procedures and staffing.
Evaluates root causes in industrial, transportation, and consumer product accidents.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
Identifies and reviews media to develop preliminary conclusions and plan further investigation.
Conducts inspections of accident scenes and involved machinery and safety equipment.
Applies safety standards, literature, test data, and regulations.
Designs and conducts testing and develops models for performance data.
Performs risk assessments and job safety analyses for various products.
