We seek a seasoned consultant to conduct multidisciplinary analyses, evaluate root causes, and prepare clear reports. The role includes expert testimony, client development, and collaboration across teams in office and field settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Experimental or Cognitive Psychology, or related field preferred.
• CHFP (Certified Human Factors Professional), CPE (Certified Professional Ergonomist), or CUXP (Certified User Experience Professional) desirable.
• Five to ten years work experience in a forensic or safety consulting position.
• Must have completed coursework in human factors, neuropsychology, engineering, human-computer interaction, product design, occupation biomechanics, cognitive engineering and/or work physiology.
• Experience in MATLAB, PsychoPy, and R with ability to design and write original computational models of human performance and statistical analysis code is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allotment.
• Evaluates root causes in industrial, transportation, and consumer product accidents.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Identifies media and data to develop preliminary conclusions and plan further investigation.
• Conducts inspections of accident scenes, machines, safety equipment, and products as needed.
• Applies safety standards, literature, test data, and regulations to projects.
• Designs and conducts testing and develops models to evaluate machine performance and human factors data.
• Performs risk assessments or job safety analyses as part of a team.
• Prepares written reports and verbal presentations of findings.
• Prepares exhibits with visualization group to communicate engineering concepts.
• Works with Business Development to identify potential clients and strategies.
• Gives expert witness testimony at deposition or trial, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
