Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field required.
• Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Experimental or Cognitive Psychology, or related field preferred.
• CHFP, CPE, or CUXP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allotment.
• Evaluates root causes in industrial, transportation, and consumer product accidents.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Identifies media to develop preliminary conclusions and plan further investigation.
• Conducts inspections of accident scenes and machines, safety equipment, products and other items as needed.
• Locates and applies safety standards, literature, data, and regulations.
• Designs and conducts testing or develops models to evaluate data.
• Performs risk assessments or job safety analyses for products and machines.
• Prepares written reports and verbal presentations of findings.
