Job summary

Selene Holdings is a mortgage servicing and related financial services firm with offices in Dallas, TX; Jacksonville, FL; and Salt Lake City, UT. The Senior Contested Case Manager will work with senior counsel, legal staff, and investors to efficiently manage contested foreclosure cases and to develop litigation strategies.

The role requires proactive, independent work, strong communication and analytical skills, and experience in mortgage servicing litigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a four-year college or university; or an Associate’s degree with a paralegal certification and at least ten years related experience as a paralegal or litigation specialist in mortgage servicing.
• Experience in the legal department of a mortgage servicer is required.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and investor guidelines governing residential mortgage servicing (CFPB, GNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC).

Responsibilities

• Manage all assigned contested foreclosure cases.
• Proactively monitor, identify risks, and escalate.
• Work with outside counsel to develop and implement litigation strategies.
• Prepare written case summaries and discuss with counsel and investors.
• Manage discovery and coordinate document production and depositions.
• Maintain relationship with outside counsel and track budgets/invoices.
• Update Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker and report status to management and investors.
• Track hearings, depositions, motions, and pleadings.
• Assist in settlement negotiations to minimize risk and losses.
• Assist in training staff and generating reports in Excel.
• Respond to emails within 24 hours.
