Job summary

Guild is seeking a Lead Forecast Modeling Analyst in Denver to scale the Forecasting and Financial Analytics team. You will own and improve critical forecasting components within a modern modular system, driving step-change forecast improvements for education benefits.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in analytics/forecasting, strong SQL, Python or R, and experience deploying models with Databricks/MLflow. Flexible remote options and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total experience in analytics, data science, forecasting, or financial planning & analysis.
• Strong experience with SQL and transforming large datasets into reusable formats.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R with time-series and ML forecasting knowledge.
• Experience operationalizing models — backtesting, validation, monitoring, drift detection, retraining.
• Able to contribute quickly in existing codebases and improve collaboratively.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, Omni, or similar data visualization tools.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Ability to translate forecasts and uncertainty into clear non-technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve usage-based forecasting models for clients' education benefits.
• Raise forecast accuracy and shorten monthly refresh cycle with backtesting and experimentation.
• Transfer modeling logic into well-structured, tested code.
• Collaborate across Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Product, and Technology teams.
• Mentor junior team members and foster continuous learning and innovation.
• Produce insights and recommendations to stakeholders about forecast drivers and business impact.
