Job summary

Yona Eagle is seeking a Food Services Director to lead the dietary department in a long-term care facility in Cedar Grove, NJ. You will plan, organize, and supervise all dietary functions, while directing staff and ensuring regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction.

The role emphasizes budgeting, quality assurance, and collaboration with residents, families, and interdepartmental teams. Candidates should have a related degree and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality.
• ServSafe Certification for Managers and/or CFPP/CDM credentials preferred.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in long-term care or hospital food service.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires and orients dietary staff.
• Trains workers in procedures and equipment operation.
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises dietary functions and staff.
• Supervises and evaluates the quality of work in the department.
• Forecasts and plans purchases of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains staffing levels and scheduling for adequate services.
• Maintains records including inventory, compliance, income/expense and personnel.
• Leads management meetings and coordinates with other departments.
• Manages cost-effective budgeting and control of the program.
• Ensures survey readiness and regulatory compliance of the department.
• Maintains positive relations with residents, visitors and colleagues.
• Participates in facility meetings and committees.
• Follows company policies and promotes professional growth.
• Conducts QA rounds and quality controls.
• Reports monthly goals and accomplishments.
• Promotes resident satisfaction and service excellence.
• Keeps the food service operation clean, safe and sanitary.
