Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to join a small to medium-sized unit. Under the Lead Cook, you will supervise staff, assist with inspections, provide training, and help with shift coverage and the preparation and cooking of meals.

This role requires a high school diploma with 3 years of supervisor or cooking experience, ServSafe certification, and the ability to read recipe cards and production sheets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 3 years of supervisor or cooking experience.
• ServSafe Certification required.
• Ability to work with Lead Cook with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and prepare meals using recipe cards and production sheets.

Responsibilities

• supervise staff, assist with inspections and staff training
• oversee staff duties and provide shift coverage
• backup in the preparation and cooking/baking of food products
• become familiar with headcount/cashier procedures and meal adjustments
• ensure appearance of the serving line and posting meal requirements
