Job summary

The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a Cook I to prepare, cook, and serve meals per daily menus and to help maintain a sanitary kitchen and inventory. Under supervision from the Comprehensive Program Supervisor, you will follow directions from the Food Services Supervisor and support a safe, efficient dining operation.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with prior kitchen experience preferred and SERV Safe certification preferred; willingness to work in a state government

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 18 years of age.
• Prior kitchen experience preferred.
• SERV Safe food handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to daily menus.
• Maintain sanitary environment and inventory.
• Monitor kitchen and dining areas cleanliness and order.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, deliveries, and proper storage.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
