Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Cognizant Engineer (CogE) to own the definition, design, development, cost, manufacturability and delivery of flight hardware for the New Glenn upper stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide testing and verification, and manage schedules and risks to ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace or related field and 5+ years in propulsion or fluid systems, with Creo and ANSYS experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of aerospace propulsion or fluid experience is expected.
• Experience with 3D CAD and FEA tools for flight hardware and systems is required.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, propulsion components, and seals is desired.

Responsibilities

• Define component/system requirements and complete design/analysis.
• Own design and development for in-house components.
• Collaborate with suppliers and Blue Origin groups for procured parts.
• Lead testing, qualification, and acceptance testing activities.
• Manage project plans including cost, schedule, and risk.
• Mentor other designers and perform design reviews.
