Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Cognizant Engineer (CogE) to own the full definition, design, and delivery of flight hardware for the New Glenn upper stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure low-cost, repeatable, safe spaceflight components.

You will guide design and analysis, manage testing from development to acceptance, and mentor colleagues while maintaining rigorous quality and schedule discipline. This role requires U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 5 years of aerospace propulsion or fluid experience.
• Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
• Experience in FEA tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (AN SY S preferred).
• Experience with analysis of flow through components or systems.
• Understanding of aerospace materials and treatments.
• Experience in design, fabrication and testing of components for launch vehicle or ground support systems.
• Experience generating and interpreting P&IDs.
• Knowledge of propulsion and fluid system components (valves, regulators, pressure vessels).
• Experience with seals and bolted joints design and analysis.
• Ability to earn trust and work in a team culture.

Responsibilities

• Define complete component/system requirements.
• Guide or complete design and analysis of components/systems.
• Own design and development for in-house components; collaborate with suppliers for procured parts.
• Lead testing, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Manage project plans: cost, schedule, risk; ensure timely delivery.
• Lead the team delivering components; mentor designers and perform peer reviews.
