Apex Technology, Inc. in Playa Vista, CA is seeking an experienced Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and own mission-critical software for our satellite buses.

You’ll drive autonomous operations, work with cross-functional teams, and help ensure reliable performance across launch and on-orbit phases. Candidates should have 8+ years in flight software, a BS in CS/EE, strong Python, C++, Rust skills, embedded Linux, CCSDS/ECSS familiarity, and experience with real-time, distributed

Qualifications

• 8+ years of flight software experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Rust.
• Experience with real time systems on distributed hardware.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, system administration and Yocto.
• Familiarity with CCSDS/ECSS and satellite protocols.
• Experience with software integration, testing and validation for real-time and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP/UDP, secure communication systems, Protobuf.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and own mission critical software applications for satellite systems.
• Support commissioning of spacecraft during launch and early operations.
• Own spacecraft software solutions through the full lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing of software components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to baseline product requirements and roadmaps.
