Job summary

Apex, based in Playa Vista, California, is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and own mission-critical software for satellite systems across the full software lifecycle. You will work with mission operations, guidance, navigation, and control, and hardware teams to architect and deliver robust software that operates on orbit 24/7.

Ideal candidates have extensive flight software experience, proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust, and expertise in embedded/real-time OS,

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years of flight software experience
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access and SAP eligibility
• Proficient in C++, Python, or Rust for mission-critical software
• Knowledge of embedded/real-time OS and device drivers

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own mission-critical satellite software throughout the lifecycle
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and operations teams to define roadmaps
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations
