Job summary

Apex is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and own mission-critical software for satellite systems. You will collaborate with mission operations, GNC, and hardware teams to architect, prototype, and deliver software that runs aboard our spacecraft.

You should have strong skills in C++, Python, or Rust, plus experience with real-time software on distributed hardware. The role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to access export-controlled data.
• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance required; ability to obtain additional program access.
• 8+ years of total flight software experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own mission-critical software for satellite systems throughout the full software lifecycle.
• Develop rapid, iterative software for bench and development testing and for flight systems.
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing of satellite components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, test, and operations teams to define roadmaps.
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations.
