Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, is hiring a Principal Flight Software Engineer. You will design and develop flight software for real-time and embedded platforms, ensuring software runs on orbit within weeks.

You will help test, validate, and integrate software with hardware across Space Systems programs. You’ll collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers and systems engineers to refine requirements, contribute to PDR/CDR reviews, and support on-orbit operations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 12+ years embedded software experience.
• Proficiency in Rust, C++, and C; RTOS or Embedded Linux experience.
• Experience leading junior engineers and cross-discipline collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Develop flight software for RTOS/Embedded Linux environments.
• Interface with IMUs, star trackers, and spacecraft sensors/actuators.
• Create unit tests and CI integration; support hardware-in-the-loop.
• Contribute to design reviews (PDR/CDR) and requirements validation.
• Assist with on-orbit flight operations and mission support.
