Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO, is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer I to support flight software for Space Systems programs from requirements through testing, with on-orbit execution opportunities.

You will work with RTOS or Embedded Linux, develop drivers for IMUs, star trackers, and other sensors, and collaborate across hardware, software and systems teams to ensure robust spaceflight software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, CS, EE, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop application software to run within RTOS and/or embedded Linux.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other sensors/actuators.
• Develop and maintain unit tests within a CI framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify software/hardware functionality.
• Collaborate with systems and embedded engineers to develop and validate requirements.
• Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) and code reviews.
• Assist with on-orbit flight operations.
