Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer II to develop RTOS/embedded Linux applications, drivers for spacecraft sensors, and comprehensive tests for on-orbit deployment.

You will work with hardware-in-the-loop testers and systems engineers, participate in design reviews, and support on-orbit operations. Requires Secret clearance and 8+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
• Active Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ languages.
• RTOS or Embedded Linux experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop application software to run within RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, Star Trackers, reaction wheels and other sensors/actuators.
• Maintain unit tests within CI framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers for integration.
