Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer I to contribute to flight software for Space Systems programs. You will participate in all phases from requirements through coding and testing, with on-orbit testing possible within weeks.

You will develop RTOS/embedded Linux software, hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, and reaction wheels, write unit tests, and collaborate across hardware-in-the-loop, systems, and embedded teams to validate requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience
• Proficiency in C and C++
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux

Responsibilities

• Develop application software to run within RTOS and/or embedded Linux
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels and sensors
• Develop and maintain unit tests within a CI framework
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to validate software and hardware
• Collaborate with systems and embedded engineers to develop and validate requirements
• Participate in design reviews and ensure coding standards
• Assist with on-orbit flight operations
