Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a Flight Software Engineer III to own embedded avionics software for spacecraft subsystems in C and C++. You will drive requirements through verification, contribute to real-time, multi-threaded software, and support integration and mission readiness.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering and 5+ years in embedded software, with Agile/DevOps experience and the ability to work across disciplines within a safety-critical program.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ with RTOS.
• Experience implementing and verifying software requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile/DevOps culture and practices.
• Ability to communicate with program and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, develop, integrate, and test embedded avionics software for spacecraft subsystems in C and C++.
• Implement and verify software requirements derived from system specifications with traceability.
• Develop multi-threaded, real-time software and verification environments.
• Lead debugging of complex software and HW/SW integration issues; support anomaly investigations.
• Define software interfaces with avionics, systems engineering, and other subsystems.
• Conduct design and code reviews; contribute to Agile/DevOps practices.
• Communicate status and technical risks clearly to leadership; support mission readiness.
