Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Flight Software Engineer III to own embedded avionics software across spacecraft subsystems, from requirements through verification and into operations. You’ll design in C/C++, develop real-time, multi-threaded software, and work in an Agile/DevOps environment.

You will collaborate with avionics, systems engineering, and other teams across the Mars Telecom Network program, supporting integration, testing, and mission readiness activities for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years embedded software development and testing in C/C++.
• Experience with multi-threaded, real-time systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded avionics software for spacecraft subsystems in C/C++.
• Verify software requirements and maintain traceability from system to software.
• Develop multi-threaded, real-time software and testing environments.
• Lead debugging and root-cause analysis; support anomaly investigations.
• Define software interfaces with avionics and systems engineering; participate in code reviews.
