Job summary

Reliable Robotics seeks a Flight Software Engineer to automate aircraft systems with highly deterministic C++ software in bare metal environments. You will work on sensors, control systems, and fault handling, driving requirements and unit tests, with exposure to flight hardware in lab and in flight tests.

The role emphasizes DO-178C familiarity, safety-critical software development, and strong communication to collaborate across aerospace and robotics teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience with C or C++.
• Professional experience developing software for embedded or high performance applications.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment.
• Thorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems and networking.
• Experience with DO-178C.
• Experience developing software for safety critical applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment that works with sensors & control systems, robustly handles system faults, and integrates with other vehicle subsystems.
• Drive requirements and implement excellent unit tests.
• Work directly with flight hardware in the lab and on the plane, plan flight testing, and watch your code fly an aircraft.
