Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior software verification/validation engineer to lead architecture, development, integration, and verification for the New Glenn rocket software ecosystem. The role requires deep expertise in Model Based Design, formal methods, and DO-178C/standards, with hands-on guidance to ensure a streamlined, verifiable software solution for flight readiness.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
7+ years relevant experience with verification/validation of safety critical software.
Experience in full lifecycle development of aerospace systems including requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification and operation.
Demonstrated experience with MATLAB and Simulink and autocoding methods.
Hands-on experience with embedded software testing and test development.
U.S. citizenship or appropriate status to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Define and author the software development and verification plans.
Plan and execute the integrated software verification and validation program.
Define risk reduction integration methods in coordination with system engineering.
Monitor and approve system-level software tests.
Collaborate with Guidance & Control or systems engineers to develop testing solutions against system-level performance requirements.
Participate in all aspects of integrated hardware/software system verification and validation including planning, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation of results.
Promote Design for Verification as a core principle of the development team.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers across the program and the company.
Collaborate with software and hardware simulation engineers to identify and resolve root causes of failures.
Generate metrics and trending for managing risk and communicating software readiness for flight operations.
