Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a senior software verification engineer to lead the architecture, verification, and validation of safety-critical software for the New Glenn program. You will drive planning, risk reduction, and cross‑functional collaboration with system engineering and control teams.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, MBd methodologies, and formal verification against aerospace standards, including leadership across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in the full lifecycle development of aerospace systems, including requirement definition, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, and operation.
• Demonstrated experience with MATLAB and Simulink and autocoding methods.
• Hands-on experience with embedded software testing and test development.
• Ability to author planning documents for software teams and lead verification activities.

Responsibilities

• Define and author the software development and verification plans.
• Plan and execute the integrated software verification and validation program.
• Define risk reduction integration methods in coordination with system engineering.
• Monitor and approve system-level software tests.
• Work with Guidance & Control engineers or systems engineers to develop testing solutions against system-level performance requirements.
• Participate in all aspects of integrated hardware/software system verification and validation including planning, execution, troubleshooting, issue resolution, documentation of results, and reviews.
• Promote Design for Verification as a core principle of the development team.
• Help establish the methods and processes necessary to qualify Simulink autocoded low level software requirements.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers across the program and the company.
• Collaborate with software development engineers and hardware simulation engineers to identify and resolve root causes of failures.
• Generate metrics and trending for managing risk and communicating software readiness for flight operations
