Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of journey-level vehicle and equipment maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required for some positions, must obtain Class A or B CDL within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor work sites and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Perform maintenance and repair on City vehicles, emergency and utility equipment.
• Handle after-hours emergency responses as needed.
• Diagnose, repair, and service engines, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain logs, prepare cost estimates, and order parts and materials.
• Train others on pre-operation and safety checks.
