Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Sr. Fleet Specialist to lead the district's vehicle fleet program and implement driver safety and compliance measures.

You will analyze costs for fleet acquisitions, sales, and depreciation, and design safeguards to optimize operations. The role reports to the Director of Employee and Labor Relations and requires a Bachelor's degree, four years in fleet management, and proficiency with fleet software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a job related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Communicates information and instructions to district staff, stakeholders, and vendors for fleet support and services.
• Recommends vehicle purchase and/or lease to enhance fleet operations.
• Maintains, schedules, and coordinates vehicle maintenance and repairs for district vehicles.
• Manages vehicle licensing, registration, and renewals as needed.
• Develops fleet management system; coordinates with fixed assets and finance for tracking and recordkeeping.
• Monitors drivers' adherence to district vehicle use policy; trains staff on guidelines and procedures.
• Performs routine audits of driver logs, licenses, and vehicle condition.
• Keeps abreast of industry practices to reduce district costs and improve efficiencies.
• Assists with insurance claims and vehicle replacement processes.
• Administers and maintains driver agreements, authorizations, motor vehicle checks, and related programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
