Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Sr. Fleet Specialist in Kansas City, MO to lead the district’s vehicle fleet program. You will design safety and compliance measures, analyze costs for acquisitions and depreciation, and oversee maintenance, licensing, and fleet records.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in fleet operations, with proficiency in fleet software and MS Office. In-person work and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates information and instructions to district staff, stakeholders, and vendors for fleet support and services.
• Recommends vehicle purchase and/or lease to improve fleet operations.
• Maintains, schedules, and coordinates vehicle maintenance and repairs on all district vehicles.
• Manages vehicle licensing, registration, and renewals as needed.
• Develops fleet management system; coordinates with fixed assets and finance for tracking and recordkeeping.
• Monitors driver adherence to vehicle policy; trains staff on guidelines and procedures.
• Performs routine audits of driver logs, licenses, and vehicle condition.
• Keeps abreast of industry practices to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
• Assists with insurance claims and vehicle replacement processes.
• Administers driver agreements, authorizations, motor vehicle checks, and other programs.
