Job summary

NAFA Fleet Management Association in Springfield, MO seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all fleet operations, purchasing, maintenance, DOT/IFTA compliance, and budgeting. You will manage supplier relations, vehicle acquisitions, and sales of company vehicles, while leading a team and coordinating facility maintenance.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in fleet management, CDL required, strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with five years’ work experience in all areas of fleet management.
• Class A CDL and driving record within Company MVR policy guidelines.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, compliance guidelines, financial reports and other legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Understand finance and accounting as it pertains to the acquisition (purchase or lease) of vehicles, and their accounting on the company’s balance sheet.
• Provide data for lease-versus-buy analyses.
• Research the supplier market for fleet leasing, maintenance programs, fuel cards, and other admin programs.
• Price, spec, and purchase or lease vehicles; read invoices and understand the distribution network from order to delivery.
• Familiarize with the used-vehicle market and how vehicles are priced and equipped.
• Track total cost of ownership to determine vehicle performance.
• Create fleet budgets and submit for management approval.
• Oversee DOT and IFTA compliance at the Branch level.
• Develop and update fleet policies and procedures; manage vehicle assignment and replacement policies.
