Job summary

The City of Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the municipal vehicle fleet and lead the fleet operations team. You will plan procurement, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles and equipment, develop policies, and coordinate with departments and the Council.

A Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience with two years in supervision are required; NAFA certification preferred. A valid driver's license, strong communication skills, and proficiency with common office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Four years of related experience with two years in supervisory roles are required.
• Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (NAFA) certification is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Supervise staff: interview, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline employees.
• Oversee the entire municipal vehicle fleet management.
• Develop policies and goals for fleet operations.
• Plan procurement, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
• Develop shop operating policies and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare fees and budgets for maintenance and replacement.
• Coordinate with council equipment committee on procurement.
• Review special equipment requests, write specs, and manage procurement.
• Write bid specs, review bids, and award based on Life Cycle Costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental laws.
• Manage fueling systems and 24/7 fuel availability.
• Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
