Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Equipment Manager in Greenville, SC to lead fleet maintenance, support crews, and ensure equipment safety and availability.

You will own maintenance priorities, equipment costs, vendors, and long-term fleet planning, working with operations and safety leaders to deliver the right equipment to the jobsite. This role requires travel to shops, plants, jobsites, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, shops, or operations.
• Three years of leading people, programs, or vendors.
• Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
• Experience managing costs, working with vendors, and making repair decisions.
• Ability to build trust with technicians, operators, and leaders while setting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set safety and maintenance standards for shops, yards, field service, and equipment deployment.
• Plan preventive maintenance and prioritise repairs to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with operations on equipment assignments, transfers, rentals, and utilization.
• Manage maintenance budgets and vendor performance; guide repair and capital decisions.
• Coach team members and improve shop processes using fleet data.
