Job summary

SA Recycling in East Point, GA is seeking a skilled Transportation Maintenance Supervisor to lead a fast-paced maintenance team responsible for diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of the fleet and heavy equipment. This role blends hands-on mechanical work with administrative duties, safety compliance, and reporting in Excel/Word.

Candidates should have 3+ years in heavy equipment maintenance and 3 years of supervisory experience, ASE credentials, and the ability to work outdoors in

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; a related degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in scrap metal or related industry.
• 3 years of supervisory/lead experience in fast-paced operations.
• ASE credentials, federal/state inspector certifications, Fleet Tire Service for OSHA Compliance are valued.
• Bilingual: English & Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trucks, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools to isolate problems in engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Perform engine tune-ups, oil changes, brake replacements, suspension adjustments, and electrical repairs.
• Source, order, and install replacement components including tires, filters, belts, and hoses.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and repair details in the in-house system.
• Prepare performance reports and analyze maintenance data using Excel and Word.
• Enforce safety regulations, manufacturer specs, and environmental standards.
• Lead, motivate, and organize a safety-first maintenance team.
