Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. in Greenville, SC is seeking an Equipment Manager who will lead fleet maintenance and safety initiatives, ensuring reliable equipment for multiple sites.

You’ll own maintenance priorities, costs, vendors, and long‑term fleet planning to support operations across our region. The role involves hands‑on leadership, collaboration with operations and safety leaders, and a focus on reducing downtime while improving equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, shops, or operations, including at least three years leading people, programs, or vendors.
• Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and safe shop and field practices.
• Experience managing costs, working with vendors, and making sound repair and replacement decisions.
• The ability to build trust with technicians, operators, and leaders while setting priorities and following through.
• Comfort using maintenance systems, telematics, and operational data to make practical decisions.
• Experience in asphalt, roadbuilding, aggregates, or heavy civil construction is valuable.

The equipment behind every successful paving job needs a team that is ready before the crew arrives. King Asphalt is seeking an Equipment Manager to lead fleet maintenance, support our people, and help keep equipment safe and dependable across our operating region.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with ownership of maintenance priorities, equipment availability, costs, vendors, and long‑term fleet planning. You’ll work closely with operations and safety leaders to get the right equipment to the right job—and help technicians and shop leaders do their best work.

• Comfort using maintenance systems, telematics, and operational data to make practical decisions.

Experience in asphalt, roadbuilding, aggregates, or heavy civil construction is especially valuable. This role involves regular travel to shops, plants, jobsites, and vendors, with occasional after‑hours response to critical equipment issues.
