Job summary

Vaco in United States (Ann Arbor, MI) is seeking a Senior Fixed Assets Analyst to manage asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditures. You will partner with accounting, finance, and IT to ensure accurate reporting and compliance in a complex environment.

This role emphasizes month-end close support, internal controls, SOX compliance, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong asset accounting experience and SAP FI/CO FI‑AA expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial systems experience, with substantial fixed asset exposure.
• Experience with SAP FI/CO and Fixed Assets (FI-AA) is strongly preferred.
• Experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, transfers, retirements, disposals, and depreciation.
• Oversee and coordinate month-end close activities related to fixed assets, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Maintain and review fixed asset records, asset classifications, useful lives, and depreciation schedules.
• Support capital expenditure accounting, including project cost tracking, capitalization, and settlement activities.
• Review existing fixed asset processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, IT, and other departments to resolve issues related to fixed asset transactions and reporting.
• Evaluate process improvement requests and assist with implementing changes to accounting workflows and related systems.
• Support internal controls and SOX compliance, including maintaining process documentation and assisting with audit activities.
• Assist with system testing, validation, and implementation of changes affecting fixed asset and capital project processes.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures, process documentation, and training materials.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding fixed asset processes, accounting requirements, and procedural changes.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to fixed assets and financial operations.
