Mobile Air & Power Rentals in Tampa, FL is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to manage fixed assets throughout their lifecycle, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset reporting under U.S. GAAP.

The role partners with Finance, Operations, and Procurement, supports audits, and drives process improvements in asset accounting. Travel is ~10% and a CPA track is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of accounting experience with direct fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, asset transfers, disposals, reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting.
• Experience with construction-in-progress and project/job costing preferred.
• Experience in rental businesses where asset utilization is a KPI preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• SOX controls, compliance, or audit support preferred.
• CPA track preferred, but not required.
• Travel: Approximately 10%

Responsibilities

• Own fixed asset accounting from acquisition through disposal, including capitalization, construction-in-progress, depreciation, transfers, improvements, and retirements.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, rental unit schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Calculate and record depreciation and amortization per U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to fixed assets (additions, disposals, depreciation, impairments, adjustments).
• Reconcile fixed asset subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Maintain asset ownership documentation, registrations, equipment records, and other records.
• Coordinate periodic fixed asset and unit cycle counts.
• Prepare fixed asset reports, schedules, and analysis for management.
• Own capital expenditure processes, including capital model reporting and forecasting.
• Present findings to C-suite and executive leadership.
• Assist audits by preparing fixed asset schedules and documentation.
• Support internal controls and physical asset inventories; prepare personal property tax data.
